ROSEMARY VAN DEUREN • CONTACT
Rosemary Van Deuren was born in 1977 and grew up in a small Wisconsin town. She has worked as a bookseller, a soap clerk and a custom framer. Alongside these and other sundry day jobs, she also worked as a freelance illustrator, sculptor and painter from 1999 - 2007. She took up writing as a lark, beginning her first novel in 2002 - a work which was largely unpublishable by most standards and thankfully has never seen the light of day. Rosemary continued writing in secret while focusing on art, until writing slowly usurped her visual art aspirations altogether. She wrote the first draft of Basajaun in nine months, finishing the book in 2008. Rosemary also did all the photography and design for the Basajaun book cover, as well as designed and built both the rosemaryvandeuren.com and Basajaun's Warren websites.

In her spare time, Rosemary still likes to sketch, design and sew stuffed animals, and walk through the woods with her fiance - the very talented illustrator and sequential artist, Guy Davis. She and Guy currently live in Michigan with their menagerie of animals; including one rabbit, who laid patiently at Rosemary's feet the entire time Basajaun was being written.
